Instructions
1. Prepare the Beef Patty:
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Gently shape into 4 equal-sized patties, about ¾ inch thick. Avoid pressing too hard to keep them juicy.
- Make a slight dent in the center of each patty with your thumb (this helps prevent puffing up while cooking).
2. Cook the Patties:
- Heat a pan or grill over medium-high heat and brush with oil or butter with chopped garlic.
- Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side (or until desired doneness). For medium, cook to 160°F (70°C).
- Add a cheese slice on top of each patty in the last minute of cooking, letting it melt.
3. Toast the Buns:
- Lightly butter the burger buns and toast them on the pan/grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
4. Assemble the Burger:
- Spread mayo, ketchup, or mustard on the bottom bun.
- Place lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.
- Add the cheesy beef patty.
- Cover with the top bun.
